Is your vision blurry? Are things not as clear as they used to be?
A refractive error may be the reason. Refractive errors are common and can usually be corrected with glasses or contact lenses.
Common Types
- Nearsightedness (Myopia)
You can see things up close, but things farther away may look blurry. - Farsightedness (Hyperopia)
You may have trouble seeing things up close. Distance vision can also be affected. - Astigmatism
Things may look blurry or slightly distorted, whether they’re near or far. - Presbyopia
As you get older, it becomes harder to see things up close. You may notice it when reading or looking at your phone.
Signs Your Vision May Have Changed
You may notice:
- Blurry vision
- Trouble seeing near or far
- Squinting to see better
- Eye strain or headaches
- Trouble reading
- Difficulty seeing clearly at night
Vision can change slowly, so you may not realize that your prescription needs to be updated.
